Ake, 30, has been tipped for an exit from the Etihad during the transfer window in search of more gametime.

The Dutchman will be hoping to boost his chances of being on the plane with Holland to the World Cup in the US this summer.

He has already rejected a move to West Ham and has also had interest from former club Bournemouth and Crystal Palace.

The Daily Mail have claimed that he also has admirers from LaLiga giants Barcelona.

A move to Catalonia would see Ake reunite with former Man City team-mate Eric Garcia.

The two played together three times as Cityzens before the Spaniard made his 2021 move to Barcelona.

He could also link back up with Joao Cancelo, who is being targeted by Hansi Flick‘s side.

The former Man City full-back is being pursued by Barca in a deal from Saudi side Al-Hilal.

Ake may see his exit from the Eithad delayed due to current injuries in Pep Guardiola‘s side.

Josko Gvardiol and Ruben Dias were both hurt in the 1-1 draw against Chelsea, leaving the team’s defensive options depleted.

Guardiola will have to rely on Ake and Abdukodir Khusanov as senior options to play in the heart of the defence.

The pair will likely be called up tonight as the Cityzens host Brighton at the Etihad.

Ake is valued at £21million and his contract is set to run until June 2027.

He has played 161 times for the club since his arrival in 2020 and won four Prem titles and a Champions League.

Meanwhile, Man City could make a move for Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi this month.

The club captain will be allowed to leave Selhurst Park should his £40million asking price be met.

It is a steep transfer fee set by the Eagles, considering his contract is set to expire in the summer.
